Calroy Refrigeration supply a range of superior quality refrigeration systems. We specialise in ready to install refrigeration units, customisable to your specific space and needs. Our standard drop in and slide in refrigeration units are built on a capillary tube system. This eliminates the need for a TX valve and is a much more simplistic design; meaning easier installation, and maintenance. The capillary tube system is heavy duty and perfectly suited for the tough outback conditions in Australia and further to that, the capillary system requires a lower start up current; meaning units are suitable to run on generator, or 240v power supply.
Drop in Refrigeration Units
Calroy’s drop in refrigeration units are exactly as their name describes. Simply drop them in! These systems are designed to sit on the roof of your cold room and the evaporator hangs into the cold room while the condenser is supported above the room. Drop in units come with refrigerant, drain kit and an electrical controller. All our drop in units are piped, wired, and ready to install!
All you need to do is:
- cut the hole, fit the supplied opening channel and drop the unit in!; and
- run a drain out of the room, plug the unit in and it’s up and running;
You should note that:
- all our units come preset at two degrees celsius with a two degree differential; and
- our larger units have double fan evaporator.
Slide In Refrigeration Units
Calroy’s slide in refrigeration units are designed to hang on the side of your cold room. The evaporator sits high on the inside wall while the condenser is supported by framing and brackets on the outside wall. Slide in systems come complete with: refrigerant, drain kit and electrical controller. These units are also piped, wired, and ready to install.
Simply:
- cut a hole in the cold room, fit the supplied opening channel and slide the unit in;
- run a drain out of the cold room; and
- plug the unit in, and you’re away!
Note that:
- refrigeration systems come preset at two degrees celsius, with a two degree differential; and
- larger units have double fan evaporator.
Split Mount Refrigeration Units
Calroy’s versatile split mount units are generally used on mobile cold rooms or restaurant cold rooms where a drop in, or slide in isn’t suitable or doesn’t fit.
The same components are used as the drop in and slide in but this system needs to be installed by a professional refrigeration mechanic.
Copper pipe is required for this unit and the copper pipe is run and insulated to connect the evaporator, condenser, and electrical controller. The mechanic will then wire the unit and set it up.
The mechanic will need to add refrigerant to this unit after installation, and prior to running the unit.
*Please note that a weather cover is required if units is outside.
Enclosed Refrigeration Units
Calroy’s enclosed refrigeration units are an alternative to our split mount systems. These units are more like an air conditioner unit, with a fully enclosed outdoor unit and evaporator.
These units must be installed by a professional refrigeration mechanic. Copper pipe will be run and insulated to connect the evaporator and condenser and the mechanic must wire the electrical controller and set up the unit.
Refrigerant needs to be added to these units after installation, and prior to running.
Refrigeration Unit Accessories
We offer a stylish Colorbond weather cover (colour of your choice) for all units that have an open condenser and we offer light installation for drop in or slide in units.
Lights offered are:

- waterproof,
- wired to fan or switch,
- low power usage; and
- minimal heat generated.
